Welcome to taku

Michelin star-awarded cuisine just opposite the famous Cologne Cathedral.

Taku, awarded with one Michelin star, welcomes you with a masterpiece of authentic East Asian cuisine! Head chef Nicolas von Auersperg knows how to elicit the finest flavours out of basic Asian recipes by developing his own elegant and genuine interpretation of Asian cuisine.

Arouse enthusiasm for the Asian cuisine and discover delicious creations of Japanese, Chinese Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine in our restaurant taku. Asian cuisine is based on an over thousand years old food culture and represents the symbiosis of culinary and cultural aspects. Fresh and flavouring ingredients harmonise with seductively smelling herbs and spices, like ginger, curry, or lemon grass. Arrange the different stations of your individual culinary journey with distinguished delicacies of the Far Eastern cuisine.

The name of the award-winning restaurant is Japanese and implies hospitality. In the house of Asian delights you enjoy a modern atmosphere combined with timeless elegance. Our chef Nicolas von Auersperg and his team prepare sophisticated courses and recommend the corresponding wines.
One of taku’s specialties is the large offer of sake which is served by our skilled and courteous staff with your menu.

Only a few times a year, Nicolas von Auersperg gives a small group of guests a half-day cooking class. Look over the shoulder of Mr. Auersperg and his team, whilst you are preparing Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese and Malaysian meals instructed by the professionals. Every participant receives an own on taku-Apron for a professional look and a personal culinary book, where you can look after your latest recipes.

On top of that, we offer our balanced and healthy business lunch concept. If you have only a short lunch break, we serve your three course lunch within 59 minutes. Enjoy our business lunch and convince yourself from the high-quality and varied selection!

You can book the whole restaurant exclusively for private and business purposes. Our chef Nicolas von Auersperg and his team prepare your individual culinary journey by informing you comprehensively about exotic meals & beverages.
